Woah, this is what I can't do with pen and ink. Great job...everything looks accurate. Well, as far as I can tell without compairing your reference image to your drawing.

I think you can do something like this in pen and ink. Once you know how to control your strokes which I think you're already quite good at it's quite easy to do the toning using ink. You only need to have the proportions to be accurately pre-drawn using a hard pencil.

:D Ahh... National Geographic. All around most captivating photos in a mag or book.

As for the picture, it's beautiful! The contrast between light and dark is superb :blowkiss:. Leaving the background alone was a huge :thumbsup: to the compostion of the picture. I love your vertical strokes and crosshatching :aww: In some parts of the picture it feels almost like a wood carving. All in all, wonderful work ;)
